European commissioners to visit Belarus on 21-22 June

MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn and European Commissioner for Digital Economy Mariya Gabriel are expected to visit Minsk on 21-22 June to take part in an informal ministerial dialogue of the Eastern Partnership member states, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media on 16 June.

“On 21-22 June we are hosting a so-called informal ministerial dialogue within the Eastern Partnership initiative. Attending the forum will be representatives of six countries and the European Commission,” said Vladimir Makei.

In his words, the European Commission will be represented at the meeting by European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn and European Commissioner for Digital Economy Mariya Gabriel.

“The meetings will highlight the idea of harmonizing the digital markets of the Eastern Partnership and the European Union. The second part of the meetings will focus on political cooperation in this initiative,” the minister said.
