MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) – Dmitry Kuptel has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kenya with concurrent accreditation to Ethiopia, Uganda, and Tanzania, Belarus’ resident representative to the African Union, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), and the UN Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat). Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has signed the relevant decree, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.
Dmitry Kuptel previously worked as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Ethiopia and non-resident ambassador to a number of other countries and international organizations in Africa. The decision to re-assign him was prompted by the closure of the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Ethiopia and the opening of the embassy in Kenya.
