City councils of Minsk, Omsk sign agreement on cooperation

MINSK, 25 July (BelTA) – The Minsk City Council of Deputies and the Omsk City Council have signed a protocol on cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk City Hall.

According to Chairman of the Minsk City Council of Deputies Vasily Panasyuk, cooperation prospects at the level of government bodies were discussed during the Days of Omsk in 2015. “It is great that the words were turned into concrete actions. The implementation of these steps is a logical addition to the cooperation the two cities have already been maintaining,” he said.

Chairwoman of the Omsk City Council Galina Gorst stated that the document opens new opportunities for sharing experience in lawmaking, education, healthcare, public services and amenities.

Omsk also played host to the Belarusian-Russian business forum during which agreements on cooperation were signed between the Minsk office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Omsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the information and tourism center Minsk and the Omsk center of business tourism. The meeting with representatives of the Omsk Administration discussed an opportunity for Omsk creative and art bands to visit Minsk during its anniversary celebrations.

The Days of Minsk in Omsk were held on 24-26 July. The Belarusian delegation included representatives of the Minsk City Hall, Minsk City Council of Deputies, Belarusian Optical and Mechanical Association BelOMO, Belprofsoyuzkurort companies, Minskhlebprom Bakery, Kommunarka confectionery, dealerships of MTZ, MAZ and Amkodor.
