MOSCOW, 14 September (BelTA) – The CIS Anti-Terrorism Center (ATC) highly praises Belarus’ role in combating terrorism, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia following a meeting between Ambassador Yuri Seliverstov and ATC Head Colonel-General Yevgeny Sysoyev in Moscow.
“Speaking about international cooperation in combating terrorism, Yevgeny Sysoyev positively assessed Belarus’ role and announced that a large-scale Counter-Terrorism Forum would be held in Minsk in October under the auspices of the CIS ATC and the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure,” the press service said.

Yuri Seliverstov noted the importance of strengthening cooperation in combating terrorism and called for using political and diplomatic instruments, where necessary, alongside contacts between the relevant agencies on these issues.
During the visit to the CIS ATC, the ambassador was shown the center’s capabilities through the results of annual anti-terrorism measures conducted by the security agencies of the CIS member states, including in cooperation with the CSTO and the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure.
