Belarusian university, Russian North Caucasus Federal University to launch joint master's program

MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – A agreement to launch a joint master's program was signed by Belarusian State University (BSU) and Russia’s North Caucasus Federal University. The document was signed by the heads of the universities Andrei Korol and Dmitry Bespalov, BelTA learned from the BSU press service.
“The agreement provides for a joint master's degree to train social workers and for the issue of the diplomas from Belarusian and Russian universities. At this stage, the parties are working to devise a common curriculum and a list of the disciplines to be studied. Enrollment will start in the 2022/23 academic year,” the press service noted.
The document also regulates the exchange of professors and students, envisages joint conferences, scientific and educational activities, and publication of educational and methodological materials.
On behalf of the BSU the agreement shall be executed by the Social Work and Rehabilitation Chair of the Philosophy and Social Sciences Department.
BSU actively cooperates with universities in joint training of specialists. The Institute of Belarusian State University and the Dalian University of Technology (DUT) was set up in China in 2017 and the Belarusian-Chinese BSU-DUT Institute in Belarus in 2019. The first joint master's program The History of the Belarusian Diaspora was launched at the history department of BSU and Moscow State University in 2019. In 2019, Belarusian State University inked an agreement to launch joint master's and postgraduate programs with Dalian University of Technology .
North Caucasus Federal University was established in 2012 in the city of Stavropol through a merger of three universities located in Stavropol Region: North-Caucasus State Technical University, Stavropol State University and Pyatigorsk State University for Humanities & Technology. The university comprises two departments and 10 schools, employs more than 1,400 teaching staff, enrolls over 24,000 students, including students from 56 countries. North Caucasus Federal University cooperates with more than 100 universities, scientific and educational centers of the world.
