Belarusian senators urged to step up cooperation with local MPs

MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus should step up cooperation with local MPs, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as heard out the report of the chairman of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament Mikhail Myasnikovich on 6 April, BelTA has learned.

“I had a serious discussion of this issue with Boris Batura when he was the chairman of the upper chamber of the parliament. We agreed that our senate should work in close cooperation with them (local MPs. – BelTA’s note),” the Belarusian leader said.

Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich, in turn, said that the work with the representatives of local councils is one of the main priorities for the upper chamber of the parliament. The council for cooperation between local authorities was established in the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly several years ago.

Mikhail Myasnikovich also informed the President about the performance of the Council of the Republic. About 65 legal acts and other documents are currently under consideration of the MPs.
