Belarusian prime minister presents state awards

MINSK, 25 November (BelTA) – Belarus Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko presented state awards to almost 40 people from various walks of life in a ceremony in the Palace of the Republic on 25 November, BelTA has learned.

“The ceremony to present state awards is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the achievements of people who deserve recognition from the whole country and who should be celebrated for their dedicated service, talents, and professional skills,” Roman Golovchenko stressed.

All the awardees have achieved significant or even outstanding results in their fields and have made a great personal contribution to the strengthening and development of the country, he noted. “Your achievements are an inspiration for the youth, a perfect example of how to make the most of your talents and achieve your ambitions,” the prime minister believes.

The awardees included representatives of various professions. Many of them work in agriculture. “This year has been a test for many sectors. However, despite all the difficulties, the country’s agricultural sector has performed well,” Roman Golovchenko said. “Thanks to coordinated and hard work, farmers set new records for some crops,” he added.

Roman Golovchenko praised workers of Belarusian Railways who, despite the hardships and economic difficulties caused by the pandemic, have done their job to the best of their ability.

State awards were also bestowed upon representatives of culture and art. “The role of culture in the society is crucial at all times. Belarusian art has traditionally promoted the ideals of beauty, kindness, and fairness and plays an important role in fostering moral and aesthetic values. Thanks to you, talented creative, inspired, and passionate people, the national culture gets a new dimension,” the prime minister noted,

He also presented awards to representatives of science, education, social security, construction, members of public associations, and employees of tax authorities.

“This year, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Declaration on State Sovereignty of Belarus. I am absolutely sure that it was you [the awardees] who have started the labor and cultural traditions of our young state,” Roman Golovchenko noted.
