MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – Representatives of the Belarus parliament will take part in the 132nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) that will take place in Hanoi, Vietnam on 28 March – 1 April, the press service of the lower chamber of the Belarus parliament told BelTA.
The Belarusian delegation includes Chairman of the International Affairs and National Security Commission Vladimir Senko and Deputy Chairwoman of the Healthcare, Physical Training, Family and Youth Policy Commission Yelena Shamal.
According to the source, Yelena Shamal is expected to attend sessions of the Governing Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, in sessions of the committees on sustainable development, finance and trade, on democracy and human rights, in sessions of the council of the forum of young parliamentarians, the coordinating committee of women parliamentarians and the geopolitical group Eurasia.
During general debates of the IPU’s committee on democracy and human rights Yelena Shamal is expected to deliver a report on access to medical services as a basic human right and the role of parliaments in resolving key problems relating to the health of women and children.
