Belarusian MPs to meet with members of Polish parliament

MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) – A Belarusian parliamentary delegation will hold talks with representatives of the Sejm and the Senate of Poland, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.

The Belarusian delegation led by Boleslav Pirshtuk, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives, will visit Poland from 30 January to 2 February. “The Belarusian MPs will meet with senior members of the Sejm and the Senate of Poland, and also with members of the Poland-Belarus parliamentary group,” the pres service said.

The program of the visit includes meetings with Polish businessmen. The press service added that the Belarusian delegation includes Valery Voronetsky, Chairman of the Permanent Commission for International Affairs of the House of Representatives.

BelTA reported earlier that in December 2016, Belarus hosted a delegation of Polish MPs led by Marshal of the Senate of Poland Stanislaw Karczewski. Several agreements were reached during that visit. For instance, the parties agreed to hold a joint economic forum of regions in 2017. The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Senate of Poland signed a joint statement on cooperation and agreed to develop interparliamentary dialogue to strengthen the friendship between the two countries and their people.
