MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) - The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus passed the bills to ratify several agreements with Laos, BelTA has learnt.
One of the documents is the Belarusian-Lao intergovernmental investment promotion and protection agreement which was signed in Minsk on 1 July 2013. The agreement, in particular, provides that each party shall create favorable conditions for investors. The parties shall also provide fair and equitable treatment to investment.
The other document is the treaty on friendly relations and cooperation between Belarus and Laos, which was also signed on 1 July. It provides that the parties shall develop their relationship as friendly countries, and shall be guided by the principles of mutual respect. In addition, the MPs ratified the intergovernmental Belarusian-Lao agreement on visa free travel for holders of diplomatic and official passports.
The House of Representatives also ratified the agreement with the UAE on mutual provision of land plots for diplomatic missions. The amendments to the legal status of foreign citizens and stateless persons in Belarus passed the second reading.
