MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – Belarusian MPs suggest organizing a large-scale visit for Dutch businessmen to Minsk. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Chairman of the International Affairs Commission of the House of Representatives Valery Voronetsky and a parliamentary delegation from the Netherlands on 25 March, BelTA has learned.

“It would be great to have a possibility to organize a large-scale visit of representatives of the business circles of the Netherlands to Minsk, perhaps headed by the minister of foreign trade, in order to hold a business forum here, visit large enterprises, and look at new opportunities for economic cooperation,” said Valery Voronetsky.

According to him, Belarusian MPs have been actively working in European countries by organizing business forums and roundtables. MPs are interested in establishing the same interaction with the Netherlands.

Valery Voronetsky hailed the trade and economic relations between the two countries as positive. In 2018, the trade between Belarus and the Netherlands reached $2 billion. Belarus expects further intensification of economic cooperation, primarily through investment cooperation. World-famous companies from the Netherlands are already working in Belarus. The countries have been implementing joint projects in pharmaceutics, agriculture, industry, and manufacturing. Belarus is also interested in expanding contacts with the Netherlands in education, culture, sports and tourism.
