MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) - The Belarusian parliamentary delegation headed by the chairman of the permanent commission on international affairs and national security of the Council of the Republic, Vladimir Senko, is in Geneva for the 129th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) which is running on 7-9 October, BelTA learned from the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament.
The Belarusian delegation will attend meetings of the standing committees, the IPU Governing Council, the Coordinating Committee of Women Parliamentarians.
The parliamentary delegation includes vice-chairperson of the permanent commission on environment, natural resources and the Chernobyl disaster Alla Naumchik. According to the press service of the House of Representatives, Alla Naumcik will make a report "The role of parliaments in the protection of the rights of children, in particular of the unaccompanied migrant children, and in the prevention of their exploitation during wars and conflicts” at the meeting of the IPU standing committee on democracy and human rights.
Attending the IPU Assembly are about 1,200 participants from 129 countries.
