A delegation of the Public Security Ministry of China led by Deputy Head of the Discipline Control Department Peng Minghai visited Belarus. The guests met with top officers of the Central Internal Affairs Office of the Belarusian Interior Ministry. Various aspects of cooperation were discussed. In particular, the detection and suppression of crimes committed by law enforcement officers and control over the organization of state protection of government officials and their families were discussed. The sides shared their best practices for ensuring law and order during public events, for eradicating corruption, and for training qualified personnel.

Andrei Parshin, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Office of the Belarusian Interior Ministry, noted that Belarus-China relations had reached the level of strategic partnership and develop rapidly in politics, economy, and law enforcement. Last year the Belarusian Interior Ministry and the Public Security Ministry of China signed a protocol on cooperation in 2017-2018. The official described the protocol as an important addition to the interagency legal base.

In turn, Peng Minghai underlined the importance of the meeting and added that Belarusian and Chinese law enforcement agencies are connected by friendly relations, which the sides intend to develop in the future. According to the head of the Chinese delegation, the current visit to Belarus will help reinforce the reached agreements.
