MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – After successful state trials the Belarusian army received a lineup of cutting-edge satellite communications stations in early March, BelTA learned from the website of the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus.

The stations were developed by OAO AGAT – Control Systems, the managing company of the holding company Geoinformation Control Systems. The company has come up with a hub station and a terminal station. Both are available as stationary and mobile equipment. The mobile modules can be installed into armored vehicles or regular vehicles. Technical capabilities and combat capabilities of the satellite communications stations allow using brand new operation modes, complicated configurations and deployment architecture, various deployment options, and frequency ranges while boasting high resistance to jamming.

The State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus reminded that the head of state gave instructions to design and produce such stations in April 2016 when he visited a national satellite communications and broadcasting control station. The new satellite communications solutions are required to be able to operate not only with the Belarusian satellite Belintersat-1 but also with the satellites of the countries Belarus has signed coordinating agreements with.

With the new stations in store, Belarus will be able to operate the constellation of satellites, the national satellite communications and broadcasting control station, and various mobile stations as a united integrated system. Cutting-edge technologies are used as well as high-speed communications channels with increased bandwidth and reliability. It will allow accomplishing a broad range of tasks in the interests of the national economy and the national security. Apart from that, the Belarusian army has been granted a unique capability of transmitting large amounts of data in real time to many regions across the globe without using the Internet.

A number of mobile satellite communications stations will participate in the parade of the Minsk garrison troops dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Soviet people’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
