MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – Belarus will recall its ambassador to Armenia for consultations, BelTA learned from Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anatoly Glaz.

Anatoly Glaz said: “All of us see what a complicated domestic political situation is evolving in Armenia now, how rapidly the confrontation inside the country is getting worse. And, of course, how different people have different resistance to serious emotional pressure. We can understand that. What we cannot understand is what Belarus has to do with it.”

In his words, a representative of the Armenian embassy has been summoned to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in an attempt to clarify the matter.

“Taking into account the development of the situation, our ambassador will soon travel from Yerevan to Minsk as well,” Anatoly Glaz said.

The official underlined that if someone in Armenia decided to distract attention from domestic problems with the image of an external enemy, then it is very short-sighted position.
