Belarusian ambassador presents credentials to president of Egypt

MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Evgeny Sobolevsky presented his credentials to President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

During the ceremony, the parties welcomed the high level of Belarusian-Egyptian relations and reaffirmed interest in building contacts at various levels. The parties also confirmed their commitment to developing multifaceted cooperation, including trade and economic cooperation, implementing joint projects and holding of bilateral events.

The parties also emphasized the alignment of positions between Belarus and Egypt on a number of issues on the international and regional agenda.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Arab Republic of Egypt were established on 1 February 1992. The Embassy of Belarus in Egypt was opened in August 1997.
