Belarus, U.S. to step up cooperation in combating cybercrime

MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – Belarus and the United States will step up cooperation in combating cybercrime, according to the website of the Interior Ministry of Belarus.

Belarus Interior Minister Igor Shunevich and Charge d’affaires of the United States to Belarus Robert Riley discussed the prospects for further development of cooperation in the field of law enforcement.

Belarus is in favor of strengthening bilateral cooperation with the United States police on all issues of mutual interest, namely combating terrorism, extremism, money laundering, illegal migration, and corruption, Igor Shunevich said.

According to the participants of the meeting, in modern conditions Belarus and the United States should pay special attention to the cooperation in combating crimes in IT and protection of intellectual property rights.
