Belarus upgrading MLRS Polonez together with China, Russia

OSIPOVICHI DISTRICT, 21 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko told reporters about progress in improving the multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) Polonez, BelTA has learned.

“Missile engineering is a new area for us. We are busy improving our MLRS Polonez. Although it may seem that they have been commissioned only recently. We can now make these systems on our own and are improving the missile that we once created together with our friends from the People’s Republic of China. The work proceeds both together with China and with Russia,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated.

The president remarked that new products developed by the domestic missile engineering industry will be tested in Belarus soon. The missiles will be launched in military training areas of friendly states: “We don’t have [big] military training areas like that, this is why we have to use military training areas of our friends.”
