Belarus-United States relations discussed in Washington

MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – Belarus Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko visited Washington on 29 April - 2 May to hold a number of meetings and negotiations, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Oleg Kravchenko met with Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for European and Russian Affairs Fiona Hill. The deputy minister held talks with acting Assistant Secretary at the United States Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Reeker and Senior Bureau Official for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Michael Kozak.

In the Congress Oleg Kravchenko had meetings with co-chairman of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, United States Senator from Mississippi Roger Wicker, office staff of several Senate committees.

Oleg Kravchenko also met with the leaders of the National Coalition Supporting Eurasia Jewry Mark Levin and Leslie Weiss, representatives of the analytical community: Senior Director of the Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement Michael Carpenter, President of the Hudson Institute Kenneth Weinstein, President of the Jamestown Foundation Glen Howard, Senior Vice President of the American Foreign Policy Council Ilan Berman and a group of researchers at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, including Director of the Russia and Eurasia Program Eugene Rumer and Vice President for Studies at the Russia and Eurasia Program Andrew Weiss.

Bilateral economic ties were discussed in a meeting with President of the Belarus-U.S Business Council David Baron.
