Belarus, Turkey to cooperate in aerial firefighting

MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Turkey intend to develop cooperation in aerial firefighting to combat wildfires, BelTA learned from the website of the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus.

First Deputy Emergencies Minister Aleksandr Khudoleyev, Chief of Aviation at the Emergencies Ministry Tadeush Kursevich and President of the Turkish company MGI DEFENCE Idris Tosundur discussed cooperation prospects between the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry and the Turkish Aeronautical Association.

The parties discussed joint efforts to combat wildfires using aircraft in mountainous areas in Turkey. During the visit to the safety education center of the Emergencies Ministry, the Turkish delegation saw combat clothing, equipment and tools, as well as more than 30 interactive sites boasting advanced information technologies, digital environment, augmented and virtual reality. These sites are used to teach students how to respond to emergencies.

In addition, the Turkish delegation visited the aviation unit of the Emergencies Ministry to learn more about the activities of the institution, its infrastructure and aircraft. During the visit, the delegation was shown aviation equipment in operation, demonstration flights were conducted.
