Belarus to continue active cooperation with Armenia in Eurasian Economic Union

MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) - Belarus intends to continue working actively with Armenia on the current areas of interaction in the Eurasian Economic Union, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Armenia Igor Nazaruk said as he met with Armenia Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms Vache Gabrielyan, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed the current status and prospects of development of trade and economic relations and reviewed possible mechanisms for building up bilateral trade, including through enhanced industrial cooperation, development of distribution and service networks, the use of financial mechanisms for supporting the delivery of goods and services.

Prospects for cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union were also given due consideration. Armenia was communicated Belarus’ position that it intends to continue working actively with the country on current areas of interaction in the Eurasian Economic Union, including the removal of exceptions and restriction, the formulation of a single coherent industrial policy, import substitution programs, ensuring equal access to producers from the EEU member states to public procurement.
