Belarus suggests more active cooperation in IT industry to Cuba

Belarus suggests more active cooperation in IT industry to Cuba

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – Belarus suggests more active cooperation in information technologies to Cuba. The matters were discussed as Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Boleslav Pirshtuk met with Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Teresita Gonzalez Fraga on 17 September, BelTA has learned.

Boleslav Pirshtuk was confident that the parliaments of Belarus and Cuba should contribute more to cooperation of the two countries. He suggested sketching out goals in all the spheres, on achieving which parliamentarians and diplomats could work harder. Boleslav Pirshtuk mentioned IT industry as a promising avenue. Belarus has good accomplishments and an HR potential in this sphere. “We could be very much useful to each other,” believes the MP.

Belarus and Cuba have many promising cooperation avenues as a whole. Boleslav Pirshtuk reaffirmed Belarus’ readiness to actively work in the segments of interest to Cuban partners. He drew attention to healthcare.

The Belarusian side places much emphasis on the entire Latin American vector in foreign trade cooperation. Belarus has worked on that continent for many years. Many Belarusian brands are well-recognized. A delegation of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino) led by its President Elias Castillo will visit Belarus at the end of the week. In its time Cuba helped the Belarusian parliament get an observer status in Parlatino.

In turn, the Cuban deputy minister of foreign affairs underlined that Cuba views Belarus as a friendly and brotherly country. Political relations are very well-advanced. Ana Teresita Gonzalez Fraga is convinced that the sides should continue advancing cooperation across the board, including between the parliaments. She noted that the Belarus president had been to Cuba three times and said that work was in progress to arrange another visit.
