MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Estonia are rightful and worthy members of the international community with their own accomplishments, priorities in foreign and domestic policies, peculiarities of social and economic development, and cultural uniqueness. Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko made the statement at a solemn event held on 20 February to mark Estonia Independence Day, BelTA has learned.

Oleg Kravchenko remarked that Estonia’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council vividly testifies to the recognition of the significant role and place of Estonia in the international scene. The diplomat said he was confident that Estonia will decently and effectively represent our region at this most important international platform.

“The Belarusian side looks forward to active fruitful interaction on a large number of items on the agenda and the promotion of initiatives in the UN. Ensuring peace and stability, including in Eastern Europe, is a priority area,” Oleg Kravchenko said. “In turn, Belarus will continue putting efforts into creating a genuine good neighborhood belt around our countries without tensions and conflicts.”
