Belarus, Sri Lanka to host joint business forum by year end

MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – Belarus and Sri Lanka plan to hold a joint business forum by year end, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Export Promotion Center.

Deputy Director of the National Export Promotion Center Yevgeny Rusak met with Secretary General of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Shiran Fernando to discuss ways to boost Belarusian-Sri Lankan business cooperation and expand direct contacts between business communities of the two countries.

The parties highlighted the high potential for cooperation in areas such as agriculture, engineering, fertilizer production, pharmaceuticals, information technology, tourism, and education.

An agreement was reached to hold joint events aimed at raising awareness of market opportunities among Belarusian and Sri Lankan businesses. One of the key initiatives includes plans to organize a bilateral business forum by the end of 2026.

The National Export Promotion Center and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce reaffirmed their readiness to further develop practical cooperation focused on implementing joint projects and expanding mutual trade.
