MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – A joint communique on establishing diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of South Sudan has been signed in Egypt, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.
The document was inked by Ambassador of Belarus to Egypt Igor Fisenko and Ambassador of South Sudan to Egypt Anthony Kon.
The document reads that Belarus and South Sudan confirm the mutual recognition of equality of both countries, independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference with internal affairs of each side in order to establish diplomatic relations.
During the talk the sides confirmed their interest in advancing mutually beneficial relations in all areas, including political, trade, economic, and cultural cooperation. The sides expressed readiness to arrange exchange of delegations of business circles of the two countries.
Anthony Kon informed about plans of the South Sudan government to secure concurrent accreditation in Belarus for the South Sudan ambassador to Russia.
