Belarus, South Korea urged to identify areas of mutually beneficial cooperation

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) - Belarus and the Republic of Korea can find many areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said when receiving credentials from Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Belarus Kim Yong-Ho, BelTA has learned.

“Important practical steps have been recently taken in bilateral relations with the Republic of Korea. I think we can outline many areas of mutually beneficial cooperation in the future,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The President noted that Belarus has strengthened contacts with the Republic of Korea in science and information technology, has attracted the first investors to the Hi-Tech Park in Minsk. “The Korean Government has provided technical assistance to Belarus, and we sincerely appreciate it,” the head of state noted.

For his part, Ambassador Kim Yong-Ho noted that his state is interested in cooperation with Belarus. “I see that Belarus is as highly developed as the Republic of Korea. Your people are very honest, very open. Belarus is known in South Korea as a peaceful country,” the diplomat told reporters.
