MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Slovakia have confirmed their commitment to developing healthy, mutually beneficial relations in trade, economy, education, culture, and public diplomacy. This was discussed at a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Slovakia Andrei Dapkiunas and State Secretary (First Deputy Minister) of the Slovak Foreign Ministry Marek Eštok which took place in Bratislava, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The parties confirmed the mutual interest of the governments of Belarus and Slovakia in developing healthy, mutually beneficial relations, including in trade, economy, education, culture, and public diplomacy,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry stated.

The state secretary of the Slovak Foreign Ministry and the Belarusian ambassador emphasized the importance of the mutual appointment of ambassadors to Bratislava and Minsk in 2025, as well as Belarus’ recent decision to open an embassy in Bratislava as a significant sign of the two countries’ serious intentions to restore the previous level of relations.
“The Belarusian and Slovak diplomats agreed on the exceptional value and necessity of respectful interstate dialogue to find ways of normalizing the situation in Europe based on the principles of peace and good-neighborliness,” the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed. “Andrei Dapkiunas and Marek Eštok discussed possible further steps for Belarus and Slovakia to promote comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.”
