MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian Emergencies Ministry has sent help to Turkey to fight forest fires, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.
A group of seven Belarusian rescuers has left for Turkey from Lipki Airport near Minsk at 6am on 27 April. The Belarusian rescuers will be deployed in a mountain and forest area. A MI-8 team’s mission is to help extinguish forest fires and deliver local rescuers to the spots of active fires.
Last year Belarusian rescuers completed 91 missions. The MI-8 discharged over 1,100 tonnes of water on active fires and carried more than 200 passengers.
