“The market of Canada looks very promising for our country. We hope that the decision of the Canadian government to lift restrictions in trade with Belarus will contribute to the establishment of the corresponding bilateral economic cooperation and strengthening of the political dialogue,” said the President.

“I believe that the past decade was the time of lost opportunities in the relations of the two states. We need to restart our cooperation immediately and fill the existing gap. We need to learn the lessons in order to avoid repeating mistakes in future. We need to embark on a large-scale cooperation, from sports to high technology,” the head of state stressed.

The development of relations with Indonesia is also of great interest to Belarus, especially taking into account that the country is the biggest economy in the ASEAN. “We aim to strengthen all-round cooperation and are ready to use the current trade and economic potential to the maximum to advance the strategic goals of the two countries,” said Alexander Lukashenko.

He added that the corresponding goals were outlined during his visit to Indonesia.

According to the President, Belarus has recently intensified the dialogue with Mongolia as well. The countries resumed contacts at the high and supreme levels, expanded the legal framework, expanded trade and economic relations. “We are determined to strengthen our cooperation in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian sectors. We have never viewed Mongolia as a strange country for us,” the head of state stressed.

The President received the credentials from the Ambassadors of Burkina Faso, Indonesia, Canada, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Mongolia, Finland, France, Eritrea, Estonia, the Apostolic Nuncio to Belarus.
