MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus would like to collaborate with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in promoting environmental awareness among children and the youth. The matter was discussed at the meeting of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Minister Andrei Khudyk with UNICEF representative to Belarus Rashed Mustafa Sarwar, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.
The participants of the meeting discussed partnership priorities as UNICEF embarked on drafting a country program for Belarus for the period of 2021-2025.
Andrei Khudyk said that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection is interested in building cooperation with UNICEF in teaching environmental awareness. He also expressed readiness for collaboration across various issues.
Currently the cooperation between UNICEF and the Republic of Belarus is based on the long-term 2016-2020 Country Program. It is based on the national priorities of the Republic of Belarus in the field of social development, healthcare and education.
