Belarus, Saudi Arabia discuss ways to boost mutual trade

MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – The current state and prospects for developing cooperation between Belarus and Saudi Arabia in trade, economic, investment, manufacturing, agricultural, and humanitarian areas were discussed in Minsk. The Belarusian side of the joint intergovernmental cooperation committee with Saudi Arabia held a meeting at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs chaired by First Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lukashevich, BelTA learned from the MFA press service.

“The importance of intensifying joint efforts to expand mutual trade and strengthen cooperation in food security, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and high technologies was emphasized,” the ministry said.

Special attention was paid to joint investment projects and expanding contacts between the business communities of the two countries. The significant potential of bilateral cooperation in supplying Belarusian industrial and agricultural products to the Saudi market was highlighted.

Following the meeting, further practical steps were outlined to prepare for the next session of the intergovernmental committee and to advance joint initiatives of mutual interest.
