Belarus-Saudi Arabia committee on cooperation to sit 6-7 May

MOSCOW, 14 April (BelTA) – The organization of the first meeting of the joint intergovernmental committee on cooperation between Belarus and Saudi Arabia was discussed at the meeting between Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Igor Petrishenko and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Russian Federation Abdulrahman Al Rassi in Moscow on 14 April. The committee is expected to meet in Riyadh on 6-7 May, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

“The parties shared opinions on further development of cooperation in the political, economic and cultural areas as well as in healthcare, higher education, science and technologies, sport and tourism. The parties also discussed the development of the legal framework of the bilateral cooperation,” the press service said.

Belarus and Saudi Arabia established diplomatic relations on 6 June 1997. In 2014 the trade between the two countries totaled $95.18 million.
