Belarus, Russia's Krasnoyarsk sign seven agreements, contracts

MOSCOW, 13 April (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation headed by Vice Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko took part in a meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Krasnoyarsk Krai in the Russian region on 13 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.

Representatives of the authorities and business communities discussed the ways of intensifying mutual trade and developing effective mechanisms to support trade and economic ties. They also reviewed the prospects for cooperation in industry, agriculture, city environment.

“For 10 years, Belarus has been a reliable partner of Krasnoyarsk Krai in various fields of economy, science and culture,” the Russian region's governor Alexander Uss said at the meeting. “We went through various periods that were defined by the state of the economy. The most difficult time is behind us. Last year saw an increase in the bilateral trade of more than 15%. These are good figures. I would like to believe that we shall overcome all the difficulties and will be confidently moving forward,” the governor said.

“Such working groups are an effective tool to build up business contacts. In 2017 the trade between Krasnoyarsk Krai and Belarus amounted to $72.7 million. Belarus has sufficient resources to meet the needs of Krasnoyarsk Krai in modern freight, passenger, road-building and utility machinery. We are ready to exchange our experience in improving the efficiency of agriculture, to supply equipment and to share technologies, including in construction and design of facilities of any level of complexity, roads, interchanges, bridges, road infrastructure,” Vladimir Semashko said.

The vice premier emphasized the good prospects of interaction in the agricultural sector. “Belarusian manufacturers of farm machines are ready to deliver a wide range of equipment for farmers, including with the use of mutually acceptable financial mechanisms such as international leasing and concessional lending,” Vladimir Semashko noted. He also drew attention to the possibility of launching direct shipments of food products, expanding their nomenclature. The vice premier invited regional specialists to get acquainted with the Belarusian experience in the construction of not only animal husbandry farms but also other agricultural facilities.

Vladimir Semashko took note of the cooperation in the social and humanitarian areas, rapidly developing interaction between Belarusian and Krasnoyarsk health professionals, especially in oncology and transplantology. In his words, during the current visit two classrooms fitted with the Belarusian farming equipment were opened in the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University.

Krasnoyarsk Mayor Sergei Yeremin spoke about the MTZ tractor assembling in Krasnoyarsk and cooperation in lift production. He also touched upon the city beautification, the development of a comfortable urban environment and the goal to renew the fleet of street cleaning vehicles ahead of the 29th Winter Universiade which is due in Krasnoyarsk in 2019. “I hope our partnership will also make a big contribution to the efforts to meet this important task,” the mayor said.

Following the meeting, companies of Belarus and Russia’s Krasnoyarsk Krai signed seven agreements and contracts to strengthen the cooperation in different areas of economy and the social sector: the agreement between the Federal Siberian Research Clinical Center (Russia) and the National Research Center for Organ and Tissue Transplantation (Belarus); the agreement between OAO Brestselmash (Belarus) and Agroselhoztehnika company (Kansk, Russia) to deliver grain-dryers and grain-dryer complexes; the agreement on co-production between Bobruiskagromash and Agroselhoztehnika; the declaration on partnership and strategic cooperation between UPP-Niva Holding Company (Belarus), KTK-mining company(Russia) and Sovrudnik company (Russia); the cooperation agreement between Eniseystroy (Russia) and Mogilevliftmash (Belarus); the cooperation agreement between BelAZ producer of rock haulers and Krasnoyarsk-BelazService company on the shipment of mining equipment and maintenance; the shipment contract between MTZ-Sibir Trading House and AutoSpetsMash company.

During the visit, the Belarusian vice premier met held a one-on-one meeting with the Krasnoyarsk krai governor. He also met with Krasnoyarsk city mayor Sergei Eremin, CEO of OOO Sovrudnik mining company Rafail Gainutdinov, CEO of VostSibUgol (VSU) company Evgeny Masternak, and managing director of Achinsk Alumina Refinery Evgeny Zhukov. The Belarusian delegation visited AutoSpetsMash company, the Belorussky Trading House, Krasnoyarsk-BelazService and Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University.
