Belarus, Russia to consider common migration space plan

MOSCOW, 4 April (BelTA) — A Belarusian-Russian interstate interagency working group on developing recommendations for implementing a coordinated migration policy will examine progress in preparing the action plan on establishing common migration space in 2017-2020 in Grodno on 6-7 April, BelTA learned from the Permanent Committee of the Belarus-Russia Union State.

"The items on the agenda are the most problematic points of migration regulation, particularly progress in preparing the action plan on establishing the common migration space in 2017-2020 which has to be submitted for consideration of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State in the first half of the year, preparation of drafts of international agreements, information exchange about legislative changes in Belarus and Russia, including the legal state of foreign citizens and stateless persons," said representatives of the Permanent Committee.

The interstate interagency working group acts as the consolidating body in efforts to improve the migration policy. The group includes representatives of ministries and government agencies concerned of Belarus, Russia, and the Permanent Committee of the Union State.
