MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have discussed the results of the 6th BRICS Summit and development prospects of the organization that unites major emerging economies, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
The discussion took place in Minsk during the consultations between the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Belarus and the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation on the level of head of the main department for multilateral diplomacy of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Yuri Ambrazevich and Ambassador-at-Large, Russian Foreign Ministry Coordinator for BRICS Affairs Vadim Lukov. The Russian delegation was received by Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valentin Rybakov.
“During the consultations the Belarusian side was informed about the progress made by the BRICS, the major outcomes of the 6th BRICS Summit that was held in Brazil on 15-16 July and the organization’s plans for the future,” the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry informed.
The parties discussed cooperation in the context of Russia’s forthcoming presidency in this organization in 2015-2016.
