MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – The level of Belarus-Romania trade and economic relations does not match the available potential, BelTA learned from Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Melescanu.
“There is a certain mismatch of the potential and the reality in the sphere of trade and economic relations,” said the official.
According to the diplomat, the sides should put more efforts into the mutual exploration of the available opportunities and into the diversification of direct contacts between the business circles via the joint intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific, and technical cooperation, which resumed work in 2016, via chambers of commerce and industry, municipal government agencies, business associations, and investment experts.
The joint intergovernmental commission plays a major role in the advancement of trade and economic relations, noted the official. “A new session of the commission is being prepared. It will be held in Bucharest in the near future,” he added.
