Belarus, Romania seek to bolster interparliamentary ties

MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) - Belarus and Romania exchanged proposals on ways of enhancing interparliamentary interaction, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Bucharest.

This subject was addressed during a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Romania Andrei Grinkevich and Romanian MPs: Senator, Chair of the European Affairs Committee of the Senate Gabriela Cretu and member of the Chamber of Deputies, a member of the Belarusian-Romanian friendship group Adrian Ampleev. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of the Belarusian-Romanian cooperation, ways of internisying it, including through legislative bodies, and also the interaction in international interparliamentary organizations.

The parties welcomed the growing interparliamentary contacts and the arrangement to exchange visits between the foreign affairs commissions of the lower chambers of the legislative bodies of Belarus and Romania.
