Belarus reaffirms interest in further constructive dialogue with OSCE/ODIHR

MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Michael Georg Link, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), and Kent Harstedt, special coordinator of the OSCE short-term mission that monitored the 2015 Belarus president election, on 29 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed the conclusions and recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR final report on the 2015 presidential election and the prospects of Belarus’ cooperation with the ODIHR and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in election-related matters and other areas.

Vladimir Makei reaffirmed Belarus’ interest in further constructive dialogue with the OSCE/ODIHR. He also confirmed Belarus’ readiness to cooperate with the OSCE institutions on the basis of ODIHR’s final report and its recommendations in accordance with the commitments of the Republic of Belarus as an OSCE member.
