Belarus provides humanitarian corridor for family reunification

Belarus provides humanitarian corridor for family reunification

MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – Belarus has once again provided a humanitarian corridor to facilitate family reunifications, BelTA learned from the First News TV channel.

The humanitarian corridor was organized at the Novaya Guta border checkpoint on the Belarus-Ukraine border.

Ten elderly and mobility-impaired people travelled from Russia to reunite with relatives in Ukraine. One of the seniors is undergoing cancer treatment. Another five people returned from Ukraine to Belarus, where their relatives were waiting to welcome them.

Also on 31 July, four Ukrainian children were reunited with their families. Some of them will travel to Ukraine, while others will continue on to European Union countries.

Belarus has once again demonstrated its peaceful stance. This is in line with the president’s directive to do everything possible to ensure that human ties are preserved.
