MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko wished a Happy Easter to Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Christ is risen! These important words are said as a welcome by millions of Orthodox Christians all over the world, and these people are united by good tidings of great joy about the Resurrection of Christ,” the message of greetings reads.

Belarusian and Russian people are also connected by common cultural and historical legacy relying on Orthodox traditions. “With a special feeling we celebrate the greatness of these days when church bells are ringing in unison on Easter. We are fully committed to doing good things, preserving peace in our Fatherland, homes and families,” the president said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed hope that the light of Easter will be a source of spiritual strength for Patriarch Kirill and that his faith and wisdom will help bolster saving hope, infinite mercy and Christian love.
