Belarus president to partake in national conference on construction industry performance

MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko is expected to take part in the national conference on improving the effectiveness of the country’s civil engineering industry on 23 November, BelTA has learned.

The head of state is expected to chair the plenary session of the conference. Top government officials, heads of ministries and government agencies, municipal government agencies, executives of civil engineering companies have been invited to participate. Aides to the head of state, heads of banks, trade unions, public associations, and universities will also be present.

The conference began on 22 November with practical studies and visits to a number of companies and construction sites. Participants of the conference are expected to discuss problems and ways to improve the performance of the Belarusian civil engineering industry, the industry’s development prospects. Cutting-edge practices will be shared.

The press service of the head of state told BelTA that the practice of arranging such conferences has already proven its effectiveness in other spheres. A similar conference was held in 2017 to analyze the work of the utilities industry. Another conference was arranged in spring 2018 to look into Belarus’ agribusiness.
