Belarus president sends Independence Day greetings to Malta

MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Malta President George Vella as the country celebrates Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Fifty-fives years ago the Maltese state acquired sovereignty. This historical event gave an impetus to the further economic, social and cultural development of Malta, strengthening of the country’s role on the international arena, including in European integration processes,” the message of greetings reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked that Belarus and Malta are currently at the beginning of full-fledged partnership which can eventually benefit the two nations. “I hope that in the coming years we will manage to give a boost to our bilateral contacts across the board,” the president stressed.
