Belarus President off to Kyrgyzstan on working visit

MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has left for Kyrgyzstan on a working visit, BelTA has learned.

The President will take part in the session of the CIS Council of Heads of State which will be held in Bishkek on 16 September.

The agenda of the session includes about 15 issues. The CIS leaders will discuss the implementation of the interstate program Capitals of Culture of the Commonwealth in Azerbaijan in 2017, the program of cooperation in the fight against terrorism and other violent forms of extremism for 2017-2019, the convention on interregional cooperation, and other issues.

The heads of state will pay special attention to the adaptation of the Commonwealth to modern realities.

The participants of the summit are expected to pass a number of statements, including the one connected with the 25th anniversary of the CIS.
