MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) – During a working visit to Uzbekistan Prime Minister of Belarus Aleksandr Turchin met with the country’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, BelTA has learned.
Today’s meeting is an opportunity to sync up and discuss the progress in implementing the previously reached agreements such as the negotiations held in February 2026 during Belarus’ prime minister’s visit to Uzbekistan. At that time the Belarusian head of government and the Uzbekistan president discussed key areas of bilateral interaction.
Aleksandr Turchin noted after today’s meeting that the Uzbekistan president’s upcoming visit to Minsk and its extensive agenda were among the topics for discussion. “And, certainly, we could not help but discuss the current state of Belarus-Uzbekistan relations. We have something to feel joy about: both last year and this year mutual trade has been showing very significant figures. A number of projects are being implemented. And I was once again convinced that the Uzbekistan president is deeply immersed in all these processes. We checked on every joint project that is being implemented either in Uzbekistan or in Belarus. We also discussed further prospects for stepping up our cooperation. Certainly, we look forward to Shavkat Miromonovich [Mirziyoyev]’s visit to Minsk. I am confident that his visit will become another impetus for taking our relations to a new level,” the Belarusian head of the government emphasized.
Belarus highly values its close, friendly relations with Uzbekistan. A positive dynamic in trade and the active promotion of joint projects are registered.
Preparations for the third Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan are nearing completion. The event promises to be great for establishing new partnerships and for signing agreements.

The Belarusian side is interested in the successful implementation of Uzbek projects in Belarus and provides all the necessary assistance. In particular, an Uzbek trading house and an Uzbek cuisine restaurant are expected to open in Minsk. Apart from that, Belarus and Uzbekistan aim to develop industrial cooperation in the manufacturing sector. Cooperation in creating modern animal husbandry complexes on the basis of Belarusian agricultural enterprises looks promising.
Apart from that, today the prime minister of Belarus visited the Second National Exhibition of Industrial and Investment Potential of Uzbekistan within the framework of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum. The main idea of the exposition is to abandon traditional static stands in favor of an interactive space that visually connects the economic potential of regions and industries with concrete investment cases, technological solutions, and future growth points. The exhibition is a specialized platform to showcase the industrial potential of Uzbekistan, promote business dialogue, and help establish partnerships between government agencies, international investors, and leading companies.
The exposition is structured around priority sectors of modernization of Uzbekistan’s economy. They include energy and infrastructure, projects in renewable energy sources, chemical, light, electrical, and mechanical engineering industries, metallurgy and production of building materials, technologies and digital economy, digital ecosystems and the concept of a regional IT hub, agribusiness and logistics, food security, supply chains and modernization of the agribusiness sector, social sector and tourism, investments in education, healthcare, pharmaceutics, and modern tourism infrastructure. The concept focuses on presenting the entire cycle Made in Uzbekistan – from the raw material base and regulatory preferences to the final export product and to show the investment potential of the regions of Uzbekistan taking into account their specialization and free economic zones.
Aleksandr Turchin also visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent. It is a unique international scientific and educational complex established on the initiative of the country’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The center combines the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan’s pre-Islamic and Islamic periods with modern achievements of science, education, and digital technologies. Its activities are aimed at studying, preserving, and popularizing the region’s contribution to the development of the world civilization.
After viewing the exposition the prime minister of Belarus left an entry in the book of honored guests. “I express sincere admiration for the grandeur and deep meaning of the Islamic Civilization Center established thanks to the initiative and comprehensive support of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev. This architectural masterpiece and unique museum allows one to touch the historical, cultural, and spiritual foundations that for centuries inspired the development of science, art, and enlightenment, and today determine the cultural code of the Uzbek people. I wish the center prosperity, and peace, goodness, and well-being to the friendly people of Uzbekistan,” he wrote.
