MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – The state of mutual trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Panam and ways to intensify it were discussed during a working visit of Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov to Panama, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“At the talks held in the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Agriculture, the parties discussed the current state of the Belarusian-Panamanian trade and economic cooperation, ways to intensify it, including mutual participation in thematic exhibitions, establishment of direct cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries, promotion of contacts between the business circles of Belarus and Panama,” the ministry said.
Evgeny Shestakov also met with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama Maria Luisa Navarro to discuss issues and prospects of bilateral relations in different areas, cooperation in international organizations.
The deputy minister of foreign affairs visited the headquarters of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino) and met with its President Elias Castillo. The parties considered prospects for Belarus’ participation in the work of Parlatino, and also the use of the organization’s platform to promote the national interests of Belarus in the Latin American region.
