MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Almaty (Kazakhstan) Denis Meleshkin met with Ambassador-at-Large and Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhanibek Abdrashov on 13 January, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Kazakhstan.
In a formal setting, Zhanibek Abdrashov presented the exequatur to the consul general and congratulated him on the official start of his diplomatic mission in Almaty and the consular district. He wished Denis Meleshkin success in serving the peoples of both countries, and assured him of full support in his work.

The parties emphasized the importance of further trade, economic, investment, social and cultural cooperation.
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Kazakhstan were established on 16 September 1992. Embassies are open in both countries. The legal framework of cooperation includes more than 80 international agreements.
