MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Vietnam and concurrently to Myanmar Vladimir Borovikov paid a working visit to Naypyidaw and Yangon, (Myanmar), BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ambassador met with Minister of National Planning, Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Aung Kyaw Hoe. The parties reviewed the current state and prospects for bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including the implementation of industrial cooperation projects in furtherance of the agreements reached at the highest level and the decisions of the joint Belarus-Myanmar committee on trade and economic cooperation.


“During the meeting with Myanmar’s Deputy Police Chief Myo Min Htike, the sides discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in their respective area of responsibility, with particular emphasis on assistance to Belarusian citizens who find themselves in emergency situations,” the ministry said.
Practical aspects of opening the Embassy of Belarus in Naypyidaw were discussed during the ambassador’s meeting with Director General of the Protocol Department of Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thet Tun. The parties elaborated on the schedule and modalities of upcoming joint events.
