MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) – Belarus is mulling over a new law on industrial policy, First Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko said at the joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus on 31 October, BelTA has learned.
The government is expected to work out a concept for the law by the end of 2014. According to Vladimir Semashko, the country will use the experience of Russia that has already drafted a similar law. The law will be passed next year. The document envisages the development of a fund to subsidize the construction of new companies.
According to Vladimir Semashko, the Belarusian government decided to work out a similar law, taking into account the Belarusian specific nature, and submit it to the parliament next year. “We should seek out resources to support and develop our industry,” the First Vice Premier underlined.
The Eurasian Economic Union needs a unified industrial policy. “It is a difficult process. However, certain elements should and can be managed. These should be at least the elements of market protection,” Vladimir Semashko said.
