Belarus, Mozambique set to bolster dialogue at high political level

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – The prospects for bolstering the dialogue at high political level were discussed at a meeting between Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique Nyeleti Mondlane on 24 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties discussed the current state of economic cooperation and the prospects for bolstering bilateral dialogue at high political level,” the press service said.

Nyeleti Mondlane is heading a delegation that arrived in Belarus to take part in the first meeting of the Belarusian-Mozambican Joint Commission on Cooperation and the second round of bilateral political consultations.

The diplomats discussed the results of the first meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission and agreed to promote the development of contacts in agriculture, trade, education and other areas.

Besides, Minsk hosted the second round of bilateral political consultations. The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov. Nyeleti Mondlane headed the Mozambican delegation. “The parties discussed matters of political cooperation, ways to strengthen trade and economic ties and improve the legal framework of the relations, and also the cooperation between Belarus and Mozambique in the international arena,” the press service said. Special attention was paid to the implementation of the agreements signed during the official visits in 2014 and 2015.
