Belarus launches criminal case into drone attack on bus carrying children from Gomel Oblast

MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) - Belarus has launched a criminal investigation into the drone attack on a bus carrying children from Gomel Oblast, Chairman of the Investigative Committee Konstantin Bychek told the media on 17 June, BelTA has learned.

“At present, a criminal case has been opened into the incident and has been accepted for proceedings. An investigation is underway. We are in close coordination with our colleagues from the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation,” said Konstantin Bychek.

He also added that Belarusian investigators have departed for Russia to assist their Russian counterparts.

Bus with Belarusian children's football team comes under drone attack in Bryansk Oblast

MOSCOW, 17 June (BelTA) - A UAV attacked a bus carrying a children’s football team from the Belarusian city of Gomel in Bryansk Oblast, acting Governor of Russia’s Bryansk Oblast Yegor Kovalchuk said on his Telegram channel, BelTA has learned.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine, using a fixed-wing UAV, attacked a bus carrying a children’s football team from Gomel who were traveling to Gelendzhik for vacation. As a result of the targeted strike, a woman accompanying the team was killed," Yegor Kovalchuk said.

According to him, six people were wounded, including four children. All the injured were promptly taken to the hospital, where they received the necessary medical care. The remaining passengers will return home shortly.

The Russian Ministry of Healthcare reports that 7 people injured in the drone attack on the bus in Bryansk Oblast have been hospitalized, and one child is in serious condition.
